Team Manager COACH!

Chapter 42

IN ANOTHER BARN out in the country—one usually known for being a safe place to park and make out—a different kind of meeting altogether was in progress Thursday night.

“Your team placed in the meet this afternoon. You broke the agreement.”

“I quit the team. It’s not my fault. Coach went out and recruited other guys. There’s nothing we could do about it.”

“Not my problem. My problem is deciding which of the girls will go first. You think you can quit on this? You need to be taught a lesson. Maybe we should do your girlfriend’s little sister first. God! She’s hot. I can’t wait to get my dick in her. Probably leave her pregnant, too. Or maybe we should start with your little sister.”

Donnie was through thinking. He swung and hit the guy in the gut. His counterpart was bigger than he was, but it felt good to get the first blow in. They were going to find out how well-conditioned he was, even though he was outnumbered. He silently thanked Dennis for that.

It didn’t make a difference. He knew he was going down. He just planned to take as many people with him as he could. He got some good blows in—heard some ribs crack and the satisfying squish of a kid’s balls when he kicked them. He wasn’t trained in martial arts, but the over-the-fence stretch warmup Dennis had them all do made breaking one guy’s nose by kicking him with his heel an easy move. But Donnie was seriously outnumbered and when two guys managed to pin his arms behind his back, the beating he got was unmerciful.

The cheerleaders showed up out at Tori’s farm at one o’clock to record another workout session with Dennis. Olivia and Jayden set up the cameras and checked the lighting, as some of it had been moved since their last workout video. Chris Davis came with her friend Sara and was dressed to work out as well. Dennis took the release from her.

“Welcome, Chris. Are you planning to join the cheerleaders next year?” he asked.

“Maybe. Not today. I just need a brutal workout. I’ll tell you about it when the recording session is over. I don’t want to hold you up,” she said. She was a petite brunette with fiery brown eyes and a shapely figure. She’d come prepared to do the routines as her outfit was the same as Sara’s—tight bun-covering shorts and a regular sports bra. It wasn’t the first time he’d seen his classmate dressed like this. She was a regular at his afternoon workouts. But he hadn’t said a dozen words to her all year.

“Okay. Let’s get rolling. I’d love to get two sessions in this afternoon. We haven’t done any for a few weeks and Olivia is running short of content to post,” Dennis said. Even though he didn’t record during the school workout sessions, he practiced the routines there. All the cheerleaders knew which one they were working on next.

It took an hour to get the first half-hour workout recorded. They’d worked hard and the cheerleaders started stripping to head for the shower stall. Chris looked at Dennis speculatively.

“It’s not required,” he said. “We’ve gotten used to it and shower between sets.”

“And it does nothing for you?” she asked.

“Not like, you know. Unless someone brings it up. I do like boobs,” he said. Chris grinned at him, then pulled her bra off.

“Well, there’s two more for you to fantasize about,” Chris said. She turned away and headed to the shower, pulling her shorts off on the way.

“Nice,” he whispered.

“You’d better catch up. They’ll be done before you get there,” Lana said, tugging at his shirt.

“Yeah. I shouldn’t delay things.” He finished pulling his clothes off and followed the cheerleaders into the shower, taking his turn to hold the spray and to lather. Chris’s boobs weren’t the only part that was nice. But, of course, there were also Sara, Rae, Sharon, Claudia, Donna, and Rebecca. There were a few giggles over the chub he was showing.

The second recording went fairly smoothly and they finished up about four o’clock. Dennis said goodbye and turned to his girlfriends. Tori turned him around to face Chris and Sara, who had come back into the barn.

“Can I talk to you alone, Dennis?” Chris said. So, there was a second agenda to her being here. He nodded and the girlfriends took Sara outside.

“What’s up?”

“Donnie’s in the hospital,” Chris said. “He got beaten up last night. Bad. There’s going to be revenge. Since you were so interested in what’s going on with the track team, I thought you should know.”

“Donnie quit the team,” Dennis said. “He wouldn’t tell me what was going on. I’m sorry he’s hurt. Should I go visit him?”

“No. Somebody else will talk to you. Since you don’t get along with most of the guys, I came to talk to you first so you’d listen.”

“I’m not going to take part in any rumble. We have a decent sheriff now. He’s the one they should talk to,” Dennis said.

“They don’t want you to take part. They want you to stay away. You’ve trained them. I talked to Sharon and it looks like he did some damage, too. He just tried to do it all by himself.”

“What does Sharon have to do with what’s going on? I mean, I know she’s Donnie’s sister. But…”

“You’d think one of the boys would blab, but they’ve been close-mouthed. I just know it has to do with their sisters and girlfriends. Donnie told me that much. That includes me, Jaydyn, Sharon, Rae, Janice, Sara, and maybe all the other girls at school who aren’t your girlfriends. I don’t know. I just know the guys aren’t going to put up with it any longer. Just don’t get in their way.”

“Right. Since I don’t know anything about it, it’s hard to get in the way.”

“You always find a way.”

Dennis didn’t know what to do with the information Chris had given him. This fell in the category of the subject he didn’t want to tell his girlfriends about. Chris had made it sound like they were the only ones who weren’t affected by whatever was going on. There was only one person he felt he could talk to, and after Saturday morning chores were done, he found himself standing outside Coach Ardith’s home. He’d been there a few times to drop Ardith off before she got her car replaced. Today, he’d walked over, taking a circuitous route as if he was on a secret spy mission or was doing something very wrong and didn’t want to be seen. Maybe that was true.

He knocked.

A few seconds later, Ardith opened the door. Dennis stood there with his mouth open. His coach worked out in the afternoons with the team, but in the context, Dennis never really looked at her—or any of the other scantily clad girls if he could help it. He supposed the outfit Ardith was wearing might not meet the dress code he’d helped draft. He was pretty sure there was more skin showing than was allowed there.

“Dennis? What’s up?”

“Um… Coach… I need to talk. It’s about what’s happening on the boys’ track team. I didn’t mean to interrupt you. I can wait until later,” he stammered.

“Nonsense. Come in.” She turned and led him to the living room.

From the back, Dennis could verify by the amount of butt cheek showing that the clothes wouldn’t meet the BHS standard. She turned off the video that was playing on her screen and Dennis was amused to find it was one of his workout videos. Damn! His coach was hot.

“I’ve got lemonade or soda pop. All diet, I’m afraid. What will you have?”

“Oh. Dr Pepper?”

“The only diet soft drink that actually tastes like the non-diet counterpart,” she said, disappearing into the kitchen. She didn’t bother with glasses—just handed him a can and sat in a chair opposite the couch, waving at it. “You didn’t bring a chaperone,” she said.

“I didn’t think it was necessary. We’ve worked together long enough that I trust you.”

“I’m losing my youthful charm.”

“Hardly,” he laughed. “You know during basketball season, all the girls got into teasing me. Rae was one of the most blatant. I remember Natalie cautioning her that she was playing with fire and I might decide to take advantage of her. Rae said, ‘I wouldn’t scream or anything.’ I guess that goes for me, too.”

“Let’s keep that conversation for a future date. What is it about the track team?” she asked, quickly changing away from a risky subject. She didn’t rush to change clothes, though.

“Thursday night, Donnie Oswald got beaten up. He’s in pretty bad shape in Des Moines Hospital. I don’t know the details, but apparently, he fought several guys who overpowered him,” Dennis began.

“Shit. Does Andy know?”

“I don’t know. You’re the first person I’ve talked to. I wouldn’t know about it except Chris Davis joined the cheerleaders when we were recording yesterday and told me about it afterward. She’s Donnie’s girlfriend.”

“Don’t tell me she wants you to get revenge,” Ardith said. “Don’t go there.”

“No. She wants me to stay out of it. She said she didn’t know what the details were, but that she was sure the guys on the team were going to go after them. Maybe other guys, too. Donnie had told her that it was all about the girls at school, especially the sisters and girlfriends of the players.”

“Rivalry?”

“I don’t know. I talked to Coach Dearborn at DMACC Wednesday, before I knew about Donnie. Things just didn’t look right to me and I needed a sounding board. He said our team had definitely been hacked. It went back to when they started losing basketball games before the tournament. They were fourteen and four before that and ended the season fourteen and eight. When we ran the time trials at the beginning of the season, every guy on the track team ran faster and jumped or threw farther than they have in any meet. The meet Thursday night was the first one they scored more than two points, and that was because of new guys. Their time trial times could have placed them high enough to be in third, like the Angelines.”

“Andy and I have noticed. We discussed canceling the rest of the season, but it wouldn’t be fair for the girls who are really doing well for as small a team as we have. And a few boys who seem to be trying hard.”

“Have you noticed they all are still working out like demons during the conditioning exercises? Lonnie suggested they considered the workouts to be their sport. Chris said I trained them.”

“What did Coach Dearborn have to say when you talked to him behind our backs?” Ardith curled up in her chair and part of the back he imagined himself behind was exposed to him.

“I didn’t mean to be sneaking around, but I didn’t know that to do. He said that typically, he’d look at the major vulnerabilities for athletes: Drugs, alcohol, money, women, and swag. I just couldn’t see any of them as enticing the team to do something. But if something was threatened, like their women, that would be different.”

“But why? Let’s say for a minute that the guys were told that they either had to lose games and meets or something bad would happen to their sisters and girlfriends. What motivates the bad guys? What do they gain from the team’s total humiliation? Losing against a particular team in the tournament so another could advance I could see. Losing every game and every meet—not just losing, but in last place—what does anyone gain by that?”

“We talked about AgCentral. They’ve bought their way into our community. I’ve heard rumors that they are thinking of getting me a scholarship so I support them. Even sponsoring my website. But you’d think they would benefit more by having their investment turn in big results in wins, not losses,” Dennis said.

“And out of all that, we have nothing to take to the sheriff or even to the other coaches,” Ardith said. “We’re sure the guys are throwing the games and meets. We don’t know what anyone has on them or why anyone would be so invested in seeing us lose. And not affect the girls’ team at all. We have a smaller team than I’d like, but we’re winning more than we’re losing. Maybe the whole expansion of our athletic program was a mistake. Too fast. We burned out athletes with too many opportunities. Volleyball, football, cross country, wrestling. Too much too soon.”

“Do you think it might be targeted at getting rid of a coach? Like Coach Andy? This has to be hitting him hardest with the track season in the tank,” Dennis speculated.

“I’d say yes, but the basketball games were under Coach Griffith. The JV team wasn’t affected, was it?”

“I don’t know. I didn’t pay attention to the stats for JV. That just seems like so many athletes that you’d need to get to. Coach Dearborn said that you usually only need to get to one or two players to change the season. He pointed out that without Jaydyn, we’d be placing sixth instead of third. Without Natalie, the Angelines would have had a losing basketball season,” Dennis said. “It’s just too big!”

“Well, we need to think about this and keep it under our hats.” She stood and Dennis followed her to the door. He really had never thought about what a great ass his Coach had. Ardith glanced at him. “I’d invite you to stay for the afternoon and keep brainstorming, but I’m not ready to face the ideas we’d come up with.” She stopped short and Dennis ran into her. She turned and pressed her lips to his. “Those are the ideas that need to wait until after graduation.” She opened the door and pushed him out.

That was a really stupid impulse. She had no doubt that there was good chemistry between her and Dennis. But there were also twelve other girls, eight years, and a student/teacher relationship between them. She had a lot to think about.

“You were really kind of hard… um… on Tori’s pussy,” Lana whispered as she held her boyfriend late Saturday night in Tori’s barn. Everyone had shrunk away a bit after the display of raw lust between Tori and Dennis. There had been more than one girl who had a sympathetic orgasm. But only Lana had crept to Dennis to hold him in the aftermath. Tori, still unconscious, was cradled between Natalie and Brenda.

“I’m sorry, sweetheart,” Dennis said, looking up past her naked breasts into her eyes. “Please don’t be afraid of me. It doesn’t have to be that way.”

“I might like it that way sometime,” she whispered back. She leaned over to kiss him and then brushed her nipple against his lips. He opened and sucked on it a bit, tonguing the tip with his tongue. She moaned. “That feels so good. I came when Tori did. I know you are what I want and I want to give you everything. Will you take me, Dennis? Will you make me yours?”

“Yes,” he answered. “But not tonight. I’m too tired from that episode to do justice to making love with you. You know how I want to devote all my attention to you.”

“Yes, I know. Please keep playing with my nipples a little, though,” Lana said. “Something was on your mind tonight. I could see it wasn’t just Tori egging you on to fuck her. I think we all knew something was up. You were hard when you got here tonight. Before we even undressed to shower. Each girl was a little jealous of all the others, thinking one of them did that to you.”

“Nothing to be jealous about. All of you.” Dennis didn’t want to admit to himself that he was still a little turned on by being in the company of their coach in the afternoon. If he ever went over there again, he’d call first so she could get more comfortable. Though she certainly looked comfortable enough in her skimpy exercise outfit. But there was nothing there he wanted more than what was here. Especially what was in his arms right now.

“I’m really turned on right now,” she whispered. “Your tongue and lips do such wonderful things to me. My breasts tingle all the way to my pussy. Touch me, lover. Please.”

Dennis ran his hand up her side and cupped her breast, bringing it to his lips. Her pale nipples were scarcely darker than the fair skin of her breasts. But they were so tender and sensitive. He could tell Lana was losing herself in the feeling of an oncoming orgasm. She tugged at his hand and guided it between her legs and into the moist heat at her core. All thoughts of his coach faded away, as his finger found its way into her passage and rubbed at the spot he knew would bring her pleasure.

He thought he was fully spent after his intense bout with Tori, but when Lana’s hand found his cock, he began spraying against it, even as she clutched his finger deep inside her.

“Soon, lover. Very soon,” she gasped.

Dennis was at Boone Monday morning and not at the high school. He and Brenda had a final exam in their Encounters in Humanities class. They’d finished their final term papers and handed them in, but the exam took a full two hours and was mostly essays.

Being away from the high school Monday morning meant that the rumor mill lumped him in with the other twenty male athletes who were missing.

“I kept trying to tell people you weren’t involved,” Natalie said when she reached him in the cafeteria. “Half the students believe you led the attack on the Bulldogs.”

“What? What attack?”

“Yeah. I kept explaining that you were with us Saturday night and we were having a very good time out at Tori’s barn. Some idiot tried to tell me that only proved that we were all involved. Coach Andy is a wreck. Three-quarters of his puny track team were arrested. Half the varsity basketball squad. Coach Griffith looked dazed. I’ve heard Coach Byers has tendered his resignation,” Natalie continued. The other girlfriends began arriving at their table and each stopped to squeeze and hug him.

“Would someone mind explaining to me what the hell happened?” Dennis already had his phone out to send a message to Brenda.

“From what we’ve gathered, sometime Saturday night while you were pounding my hot little pussy into jelly, most of the male athletes crashed a party where the Bulldogs were gathered and beat them half to death. They took their share of injuries, too, and those the sheriff didn’t arrest are in the hospital,” Tori said.

“Why would they do…?” Dennis’s question petered out as his mind clicked. Girlfriends and sisters. Rae, Sharon, Janice, Jaydyn—how many other freshman and sophomore girls were dating Bulldogs?

Conditioning exercises Monday afternoon had the girls’ track team and those boys from the Wolverines who were still in school. Most other students had decided this wasn’t the best time to be seen in the company of either Dennis or the athletes.

Tuesday, the teams traveled to the Terriers for the West Central Conference Meet. The boys had only six runners and one team manager with Coach Andy. The girls were at full strength, but Rae was missing from the bus. At the meet, they discovered the Bulldogs were fielding a team of similar strength for the boys’ meet. They tied with the Wolverines for last place with no points.

Still not understanding what had happened to their counterparts, the girls came on strong. Ardith decided to let Jaydyn make a showing in her best individual events. Without hesitation, she placed first in the 100, 200, and 400, then anchored the second place 4x400 relay.

Daniella placed second in the 400 and 800, while Janice made her mark with first in the 1500 and third in the 3000. In a surprise upset, Natalie placed first in both the 100 and 400 hurdles. Rita hurled the discus 106.5 feet to win that event.

With so many individual events for her star runners, Ardith did not expect to do as well in the relays. In fact, however, the Angelines got second in the 4x100, 4x400, and 4x800 relays, and won the sprint medley.

Breaking with their expected position, the Angelines ended the meet in second place and boarded the bus home laden with ribbons.

Thursday was Bartley’s second home meet of the season. The Wolverines did not field a team. Coach Andy had shut down the season for the boys.

The girls, however, were psyched and Sara even led the remaining seven cheerleaders out to cheer them on at the track. The excitement was not misplaced. They started the meet with Jaydyn and Amy placing first and second in the 100 and Jaydyn winning the 200. Lana added points with eighth in the 200. Then Tori, Amy, and Lana took third, fourth, and fifth places in the 400. Janice got second in the 1500 with Diane in eighth. Natalie won the 100 hurdles. Lana got second in the high jump, but couldn’t quite clear the five-foot bar.

In the relays, the Angelines won the 4x100 and 4x800. When the scores were tallied, they’d won their first team victory for the season.
